There is perhaps no more joyous an occasion than a
wedding. Two people are gathered together in front of
friends and family to pledge their love and devotion to one
another.
Weddings are a time to celebrate. But they should
also be a time of serious commitment. No one goes into
a marriage thinking it won't last. Statistics tell us
that more than half won't last however. For this
reason a person must seriously consider whether marriage is
the right thing before they go ahead.
Fear of failure shouldn't keep anyone from getting
married however. There are no perfect marriages.
It can even be healthy and productive to argue once in a
while. The Bible tells us that we should seek peace
but it doesn't forbid arguing. We are told not to let
the sun go down on our anger. This means that when
there is a disagreement, a resolution should be sought that
makes both parties happen.
Married life isn't ideal but neither is life.
People who are considering marriage should get the fantasy
of a perfect life out of their head. And those who are
married need to concentrate on the good things in their
marriage as well instead of dwelling on the negatives.
